Refresh Boyne BBQ Night by

What a way to finish off the summer, an event in association with Honeycomb - Creative Works bringin great talks, a great venue, with free drinks and BBQ!

We have a really exciting line-up of speakers at the largest Refresh Boyne event to date. Eamon Leonard (VP Developers at Engine Yard) and Brendan Murray (Senior Technical Staff member at IBM and CoderDojo Drogheda Mentor) are speaking on the night.

The talks will be varied and should be of interest to Designers, Developers, and anyone interested in the Web/Tech industries.

We also have a BBQ organised and weather permitting we can have some food while enjoying some rays. If the weather isn't favaourable we will enjoy the food indoors instead.

The event is informal and social so not only will you get to listen to fantasic speakers you will get to mingle and exchange ideas with them.

Food & refreshments will be provided free of charge thanks to the Honeycomb - Creative Works.

Brendan is a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM who has 35 years commercial software development experience, building teams and creating and managing ideas through the the full development life cycle, currently focusing on the cloud reliability research and development. Brendan spelianisaes in Software design and development, Cloud, IBM SmartCloud, Notes, Web 2.0, Social Computing, Unified Communications and Collaboration.

Julie is Irish Ambassador of @codeweekeu, English & European Studies teacher, Young Advisor to Neelie Kroes, VP of the European Commission and Blogger.

Barry JamesBarry James @barjames
Barry James is Analytics Manager with Bord Gais Energy. His work in analytics spans 20 years. He has worked in telecommunications, banking, utilities and for 4 years with a start-up. Barry is responsible for analytics, customer segmentation, predictive modelling and data management in Bord Gais Energy. Through his work, he continues to find uses for leaving cert maths on a daily basis although a business use for diffential calculus still proves elusive.

Fiona AsheFiona Ashe @flasheforward
Fiona Ashe is an award-winning video producer and director. She has a 20-year track record in professional video production and achieved success with a viral video. Fiona is also a renowned presentation coach: she is skilled at relaxing people in front of the camera and coaching them to deliver an excellent piece-to-camera. She has provided video production services for Oracle and has delivered ‘Online Video’ training at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business and at Google HQ in Dublin. Fiona also delivers training on 'Creative Writing’ and 'How To Create Compelling Content' through Fáilte Ireland, the Irish Internet Association and Irish Times Training.

Ian HarrisIan Harris @_ianharris
Ian is a Developer Evangelist at Golgi. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and has worked in a number of technical roles including R&D with Wave Energy company Aquamarine Power and Software Engineering with Openmind Networks. As Developer Evangelist Ian is responsible for promoting the Golgi SDK to the developer community.
