LIGHTNING DECISION JAM - How to conduct 45 Minute DESIGN SPRINT by Rohan Perera
How many meetings and discussions does it take before you can be sure you have the right solution?
What's the most important place to focus your effort, and how do you start?
What will your idea look like in real life?
Entrepreneurs and leaders face big questions every day – see how you can learn to use Design Sprint principles in a structured 45 minute Lightning Decision Jam (LDJ). Jake Knapp created the five-day Design Sprint process at Google, where sprints were used on everything from Google Search to Google X. This process has gone mainstream with Microsoft, Facebook, Lego, Slack, Uber, Ebay, Lufthansa, British Museum, KLM, Airbnb, Netflix etc. using it.
Rohan Perera, Ireland’s Sprint Chapter Head, will give an overview of the Design Sprint process, and the mindset necessary to be involved in one. You will then apply the Sprint principles in attempting to solve to a real-world challenge within a 45 minute Lightning Decision Jam (LDJ) that will give you the tools to use it in the future within your own team.
The LDJ is a 45 minute session where attendees:
1. Identify and define the problem quickly (e.g. We need to improve our sales flow.)
2. Come up with a lot of solutions (often very creative solutions or really obvious ones that might have been overlooked)
3. Find the best solution/next step, based on identifying the effort and impact of the best solutions
4. Arrive at clear action steps (and their owners) that can start being implemented as soon as the meeting is over
